Bricmate collaborates with Mathias Dahlgren and Seafood Gastro

We are starting a collaboration with Mathias Dahlgren, one of Sweden’s most respected chefs, known for his subtle, ingredient-driven cuisine and philosophical approach to flavor and sustainability.

In Mathias’s Michelin-starred restaurant Seafood Gastro in Stockholm, a kitchen island has been installed as a central piece in the kitchen. It is clad in Jura Select Classic Honed, a limestone-inspired series influenced by classic Jura limestone, featuring fossil details and a grey-beige tone. The kitchen island connects the kitchen and dining area and is visible to the restaurant’s guests.

In the kitchen at Seafood Gastro, the standards for quality are exceptionally high, not only when it comes to ingredients, craftsmanship and tools, but especially the materials. Our porcelain stoneware is developed to withstand intensive use and meets the standards required in a Michelin-starred kitchen.

Thanks to its technical properties, the material is just as relevant in residential settings as in professional kitchens, where demands for durability, functionality and design continue to grow. For example, the material is completely heat-resistant, making it possible to use burners directly on the surface and to place frying pans and pots straight from the stove onto the countertop.

Due to the material’s low absorption rate, liquids are prevented from penetrating the surface. This eliminates the risk of staining, including from fatty and acidic foods that would typically cause discoloration in natural stone materials. Thanks to its smooth, non-porous surface, it is also easy to clean, making the countertop ideal for a restaurant kitchen where hygiene is of high importance.

The countertop combines an elegant, natural appearance with exceptional durability. It is as beautiful as it is practical, making the kitchen island a natural and well-used centerpiece in the kitchen, where aesthetics and functionality interact seamlessly in the daily work.
